Got a comic brewin’ with my co-writer Adam P. Knave, artist Robert Wilson IV, and colorist Rico Renzi. Here’s a way early sneak peek of Robert and Rico’s awesome cover…

No more word for now, but if you’re at the Baltimore Comic-Con, we’ll all be there with some more sneak peeks… !

Looks like we’ve sprung a little leak here…

Do you live in LA? Do you love ninjas? Do you love and live poetry?

If you answered “yes” to the three questions in the subject line, swing by Golden Apple Comics on Melrose. There are many terrific reasons to go there, but I’m posting this right now because they have copies of my ninja poetry book “Do You Believe In Ninjas?” from Creative Guy Publishing in stock. The book is a weird little thing — not a spoof or a goof, just kinda goofy and spoofy … not really spoofy. It also features delightful illustrations from Chris Moreno. Honestly, you should own it.

If you are not able to make it to Golden Apple, you can always order the book on the Amazons dot coms.

I Still Have A Blog?

Wow. It’s been a while, blog. I’ve been neglecting you, as I often do. I blame not only my usual laziness but also the likes of the Twitters and the Facebooks. They make getting bits of info and links out there so darn easy.

It’s gotten to the point that I have trouble holding a thought for more than 140 characters. On one hand, I feel very succinct of thought; on the other hand, this is a very pathetic turn of events.

It is worth noting that I have little to write about right now. Life is going along well enough, but as far as exciting tales to tell… I dunno. On the writing side of things, it’s a lot of pitches and waiting. Nothing to report since DO YOU BELIEVE IN NINJAS?, my book of ninja poetry with illustrations by Chris Moreno from Creative Guy Publishing. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s available on Amazon. I’ll also be bringing copies to the Anaheim Comic Con.

Oh, weird, that was some news, I suppose.

Also, if you’re in the LA-area, my favorite pancake place ever, THE GRIDDLE, has introduced a red velvet pancake! I mention this because I love red velvet cake, pancakes, and eating appallingly yet deliciously.

Is that it? Yeah, for now. But what a glorious image to end this on, despite the distressingly bad picture quality of my ancient camera phone.

Let’s see if I can manage to update again in less than two and 3/4 months!

Thankful for NINJA POETRY

November 24, 2010 By: D.J. Category: Books, ninja poetry, Pimping.

Yes, Thanksgiving is upon us. I am thankful for a great many things (great family, great friends, great ladyfriend, great comics and tv shows, cheese)… but for this post I’d like to single out the release of my new book of ninja poetry called DO YOU BELIEVE IN NINJAS from Creative Guy Publishing! It’s a collection of my ninja poems from over the years plus loads of new ones with delightful illustrations by Chris Moreno!

Product description: A collection of the finest poetry about Ninjas ever collected. Well, at least that we know of – the others are all very very secret. Ever wonder how the modern ninja copes with daily life? Well, you should. Possibly not in the way this poet would have you believe, but then again, who’s to say? Including not one, two, but SEVEN ninja haiku slams, this will be the book that quite possibly gets its author killed in the night…

  • Paperback: 110 pages
  • Publisher: Creative Guy Publishing (November 15, 2010)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 1894953762
  • ISBN-13: 978-1894953764

No, it’s not as stupid as it sounds. It’s stupider. If this appeals to you, and why shouldn’t it, you should order a copy! Or request it at your favorite bookstore. Or both! It’d make the perfect stocking stuffer assuming it is delivered before Christmas, and, if not — the perfect way to ring in the new year!
